Beatrix Killeen

Beatrix Killeen is a National Dairy Council Farmer Ambassador, dairy farmer and lawyer based in Meelick, Eyrecourt, Co. Galway. Together with her husband Dara, she is involved in the running of their spring-calving, grass-based dairy farm, where they milk approximately 150 cows and place a strong emphasis on sustainability, animal welfare and high-quality milk production.

With a background in corporate law and a strong interest in food and nutrition, Beatrix brings a unique perspective to modern Irish farming. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Nutrition and is passionate about helping people better understand where their food comes from, the nutritional value of dairy and the strengths of Ireland’s grass-based dairy system.

Beatrix is also an active voice for women in agriculture and serves on the board of Dairy Women Ireland. Through her work with the National Dairy Council, farm visits and public appearances, she helps connect consumers with the people, practices and stories behind Irish dairy farming.
