Waste responsibilities for trade and food exhibitors.
Last updated: 2026-02-04
This policy applies to all trade stands, vendors, exhibitors, and their staff or contractors operating at Strokestown Show.
Trade exhibitors must keep their stand and immediate surrounding area clean, tidy, and free from litter at all times.
All waste produced by the stand must be managed in a way that does not create hazards, odours, visual clutter, or obstruction to visitors.
Waste including packaging, food waste, cartons, plastics, bottles, and general refuse must be contained in suitable bins or bags at the stand.
Waste must not be left on the ground, in hedges or ditches, in car parks, or in any non-designated disposal area.
Where designated waste points are provided, exhibitors must use them correctly and separate waste streams where signage or steward instructions require this.
At close of trading, exhibitors must remove all waste, stock, signage, fixtures, and ties from their pitch and leave the area clean.
Any additional clean-up directions issued by stewards or officials must be followed promptly.
If waste is left behind, the Show Committee may arrange removal and apply a reasonable charge to recover direct costs incurred.
Persistent or serious non-compliance may lead to penalties, removal from the showgrounds, refusal of future applications, and/or attendance restrictions at future events.
